Glenn E. Johnson 1919 - 2006 Glenn E. Johnson, 86, 1935 6th St SE, Minot, died Friday, March 03, 2006 in a Minot hospital. Glenn E. Johnson was born on April 15, 1919, the son of Magnus and Hilda (Fosberg) Johnson in Silva, ND, near Rugby. He was raised and educated in the Silva area. In 1939, he enlisted into the United States Army. While serving his country he received the Victory medal, Asiatic Pacific service medal, Army of Occupational medal(Japan) and the ASR lapel button. He was honorably discharged on October 25, 1946. On November 4, 1939, Glenn was united in marriage to Alice "Evelyn" Kirkalie, in Bowbells, ND. Together they raised three children, Richard, Donald and Lois. They lived in Coteau, ND, before moving to Noonan, ND in 1971, and then Minot to Minot in 1986. Glenn worked for the Great Northern Railroad his entire working career. Evelyn died April 18, 1997. Following her death, he continued to reside in Minot. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Noonan, National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway employees, the Moose Lodge, and the Bowbells American Legion Post #0127. Surviving family includes: Son, Donald and his wife, Carol, Westminister, CO; daughter, Lois Lindahl, Stanley, ND; three grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Doris Opseth, Minot and daughter-in-law, Alice Johnson, Minot. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Richard E. Johnson, brother Henning Johnson, sister Alice Mattern, granddaughter, Rose Haaland and son-in-law, Clayton Lindahl. Visitation: Tuesday, March 7, 2006 from 1 until 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Funeral Service: Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot Officiant: Rev.
