Debra Johnson 1959- 2011

Debra Eileen Helseth was born on April 6, 1959 a daughter of Darrell and Mary (Black) Helseth in Fargo, ND. She was raised and educated in Carpio, and graduated from Carpio High School in 1977. Debra furthered her education by attending Williston State College, where she graduated with a nursing degree.

On November 18, 1978, Debra was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Bruce Johnson. They made their home in Carpio, where Debra worked as an LPN at the Kenmare Hospital. She also worked as a surgical nurse at Trinity Hospital in Minot for a time. Bruce died unexpectedly June 13, 2007. Following his death, she continued to live on the farm.

Debra was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She took great pride in family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, whose positive attitude touched many lives. Debra was active with the Sunshiners 4-H club, Berthold Community Band, and the Country Gals Homemakers Club.

Those Who Shared In Her Life: Sons, Nathan Johnson, Minot, Andrew Johnson, Carpio, ND, Brian Johnson, Carpio, Jerad Johnson, Carpio; Daughters, Kristen (Bradley) Kersten, Kramer, ND, Kelsey (Aaron) Wodtka, Coulee City, WA, and Kyleen Johnson, Carpio;  two granddaughters, Kaylee and McKenzie Wodtka;  Parents, Darrell and Mary Helseth , Carpio; sisters: LeAnn (Keith) Kadrmas, Minot, Linda (Greg) Laumb, Berthold, ND, Denise (Joel) Stoa, Minot: Brother: David Helseth, Minot; Brother-in-law, Jeffery (Jodi) Johnson, Carpio; Sister-in-Law, Eloise (Ron) Worden, Krum, TX, Virginia Stockburger, Fargo, ND, Patricia (Stacy) Abrahamson, Minot; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Debra was preceded in death by her Husband, Bruce; and her Mother and Father-in-law, Blanche and Ron Johnson, 

Visitation:  Friday, January 27, 2012 from noon until 4:00 pm at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot and from 5-6 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot

Vigil Prayer Service:  Friday at 6 pm at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, January 28, 2012, 11 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot

Burial: First Lutheran Cemetery, Carpio
