Alvin H. Johnson 1937- 2006 Alvin was born on August 18, 1937, in Norwich, ND, the son of Julian and Rachel (Sand) Johnson. He was reared and educated in the Norwich area and confirmed from Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot. Alvin graduated from high school in 1962. He entered the United States Army on September 14, 1961, serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the Army on August 31, 1967. After his discharge, he returned to North Dakota and went to work as a plumbers' apprentice for several companies in Minot. Alvin later went to work for the Burtch family as a farmhand for over 30 years. Alvin was currently residing at the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva. Alvin loved fishing and hunting in his youth. Survivors: daughter, Lisa Rasmusson, Minot; granddaughters, Chelsey and Amber Hoffner; brother, Robert (Sally) Johnson, Boise, ID; sisters, Arlys (Chuck) Fine, McCall, ID, Lois (John) Belveal, Boise, ID, Eunice Farstad, Minot, Julie (Mike) Fulton, Boise, ID; Aunt, Alice Manthy, Fond Du Lac, WI; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Norman Johnson and brother-in-law, Virgil Farstad, Funeral Service: Friday, May 5, 2006, at 2 p.m. the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot. Visitation: Thursday, May 4, 2006, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. Officiant: Rev.
