Raymond C. Johansen 1930 - 2008 Raymond was born on September 2, 1930, the son of Hardy and Lillian (Johnsen) Johansen, in Fergus Falls, MN. He was raised and educated in the Fergus Falls area. On August 8, 1948, he enlisted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country receiving the army Occupational Medal. He was honorably discharged on December 24, 1949. He was once united in marriage to Juanita "Eddie" Householder. They made their home in Roseberg, OR, where Raymond was employed at a pulp mill. Together they had three children, Mickey and Leroy while living in Oregon, and Timmy while living in Minnesota. They later divorced. On May 13, 1967, he was united in marriage to Doris Osborn in Edgeley, ND. Together Raymond and Doris adopted the three boys and moved to Burlington, where Raymond worked as an auto mechanic. He was the owner-operator of Specialized Services, and after selling the business, he worked at Dean's Repair in Burlington. Raymond always had the time to teach how things worked. He was active with the community, serving as president of the Burlington Parent Teachers Association. Raymond loved spending time in the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting with his family, a passion he passed down not only to his children, but grandchildren as well. Raymond and his wife also enjoyed taking bus tours around the country and state whenever time allowed. Those who shared in his life: Wife of 41 years, Doris, Burlington; sons: Mickey (Kathy) Johansen, Minot, Timmy (Lisa) Johansen, Beulah, brothers: Mervin (Delores) Johansen, James (Pat) Johansen, both of Fergus Falls, MN, Richard Johansen, Underwood, ND; sisters: Leona Hanson, Underwood, ND; Marcella (Phil) Sundberg, Ottertail, MN; seven grandchildren: Michael, Derek, Megan, Bethany, Dane, Brenna and Delaney; one great-granddaughter: Morgan; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Raymond Leroy Johansen, brother Neal Johansen, and sister Elaine Montz. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign a register book from 12:00 PM -5:00 PM on Friday, May 30 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Memorial Service: Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Alliance Church, 715 20th Ave NW, Minot. Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND Officiant: Rev.
