May Jenson 1912 - 2007 May McFarlen was born on November 2, 1912, the daughter of William Henry and Essie (Leamaster) McFarlen in rural Granville, ND. She was reared and educated in the Granville area. May was united in marriage to Oscar S. Jenson, in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where May was a homemaker. Oscar died on December 1, 1991. Following his death, May continued to reside in Minot. She enjoyed playing cards and working with her flowers. She won many ribbons at the North Dakota State Fair. She will be remembered for her smile, although she said it was the way the Lord made her face. She was a charter member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Minot, where in 2002 she was named the "Lefse Master," the Loyal Order of the Moose, and the Minot Senior Citizens, all of Minot May is survived by Sons: Wes (Shirley) Jenson, South Padre Island, TX and Van Hook Bay, ND, Bill (Barbara) Jenson, Minot, Melvin Jenson, Minot, daughters: Vera (Erwin) Wright, Minot, Loraine (Darell) Olson, Grand Forks, ND. 15 grandchildren: 24 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren: numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. May was preceded in death by her parents, William and Essie, husband Oscar, daughter Janice Werman, brothers Roy, Ray and Kenneth McFarlen, and sisters Mina Fitchner, Hazel Petersen,and Tennie Tucker. Visitation: Sunday, January 28, 2007 from noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Funeral Service: Monday, January 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot Memorials are preferred to the Christ Lutheran Church, Minot Officiant: Rev.
