Jack L. Jaeger 1905 - 2002

Jack L. Jaeger, 96, formerly of Minot, died Friday, April 19, 2002, in a Minot medical center.

He was born on November 12, 1905, in Pierce County, rural Rugby, ND, the son of Ludwig and Elizabeth (Schiele) Jaeger. He attended country school in the Rugby and Berwick area. Following his education, he helped his parents on the family farm near Fulda, ND. He married Rose Gerger on December 12, 1925 at St. Anselm's Catholic Church, Fulda. They lived in Devils Lake for several years. They returned to Berwick, ND, where they raised their family and operated the family farm in Pierce County. In 1976, they moved to Minot. His wife, Rose, died on February 19, 1988, in Minot . He continued to live in Minot until 1996, when he moved to the Holland Home in Rugby, and lived there until the time of his death.

He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. He was a former member of St. Anselm's Catholic Church in Fulda, ND. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Rugby.

Survivors: sons, Peter and wife Betty, Great Falls, MT, Ted and wife Barbara, Rugby; daughters, Betty Lindeman and husband Joe, Belt, MT, Eleanor Morris, Choteau, MT, Vicky Schell and husband Eugene, Minot, Clara Reiter and husband Al, Surrey, ND, Carol Mitzel and husband Joe, Minot; 36 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and one great greatgrandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, parents, brothers and sisters, Lawrence, Vincent, Melchior, and John Jaeger, Katherine Schneibel, Eva Burkhartsmeir, Magdalena Lingor, Clarence Jaeger, Christine Albrecht, Ned Jaeger, Rose Voeller and Joseph Jaeger; and two grandchildren.

Funeral: Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, ND

Vigil Prayer Service: Monday, April 22, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot, ND

Visitation: Monday, April 22, from noon to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND
