Marlyn Jacobson, 90, Tagus, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Marlyn was born on May 1, 1918, in White Ash Township, near Donnybrook, ND, the daughter of Harry and Altha (Story) Graff. She was raised and educated in Tagus, graduating from Tagus High School. She furthered her education and received her Teachers Certificate from Minot Teacher's College.

On August 17, 1939, she married Maynard Jacobson in Palermo, ND. They owned a grocery store in Tagus before moving northwest of Tagus and opening a gas station on old Highway 2. In the spring of 1942, they moved to Tacoma, WA. They returned to North Dakota in 1945, and took over the family farm. Marlyn and Maynard moved to Edgewood Vista in Minot in 2001. Maynard died on October 20, 2003. On June 1 2005, Marlyn moved to Trinity Homes, where she resided until her death.

Marlyn was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and St. Olaf Ladies Aid both of Tagus, Zion Lutheran Church in Berthold, and the Berthold Senior Citizens.

Marlyn is survived by her sons, Garry (Elaine) Jacobson, Berthold, and Larry (Kay) Jacobson, Sioux Falls, SD; daughters, Neadene (Neil) Schwope, Berthold, and Faye (Tony) Asmundson, Berthold; 11 grandchildren, Kris (Stewart) Borman, Kim (Larry) Bloms, Kylene (Lonnie) Hornberger, Scott ( Linda) Jacobson, Janell (Troy) Fergen, Marc (Shannon) Jacobson, Troy Jacobson, Tony (Sara) Jacobson, Tammy (Dan) Lindahl, Kevin (Candice) Asmundson, and Randi (Curt) Schumaier; 19 great-grandchildren, Heather, Danielle, Landis, Lyndon, Logyn, Jordyn, Clay, Robert, Milan, Amanda, Marisa, Lauren, Lexie Jo, Leah, Colin, Emolee, Elyssa, Katelyn and Brennan; siblings, Gordon (Thelma) Graff, Gig Harbor, WA, Myra Baska, Vernonia, OR, Mavis Henderson, Dalton, MN, Muriel (Arnold) Neubauer, Port Ludlow,WA, Marvel Sprouse, Tacoma, WA; sisters-in-law, Helen Graff, Minot, and Joyce Graff, Stanley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maynard; infant son, Rodger Jacobson; sisters, Mildred Mandt, Mabel Coburn, Marion Erickson and Marjorie Thompson; brothers, Robert, Burton, Floyd, Leslie, and Harold Graff.

Funeral: Monday, December 1, 2008, at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold ND.

Burial: St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery, rural Tagus at 2 pm.

Visitation Sunday 2pm until 5pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church, St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery Fund or the Alzheimers Foundation.

Immediately following the funeral service, everyone is invited to join the family for lunch and fellowship in the fellowship hall of the church.

Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45. There will be no formal procession.

The Jacobson family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. May God bless the memory of Marlyn.
