Duane Jacobson, 52, Maxbass, formerly of Minot, ND, died Monday, October 29, 2007, at his home.

Duane was born on September 7, 1955, in Mohall, ND, the son of Vernon and Ida (Engg) Jacobson. He was raised on the family farm near Maxbass and graduated from Maxbass High School in 1974. He attended Bottineau School of Forestry and the Wahpeton School of Science.

Duane worked for Carter Tengesdal constructing grain bins in the 70's and in the early 80's worked for Halliburton Oil then Porter Brothers and in the 90's the Alaska Fish Company.

Duane was his mother's companion and caregiver until she died in 2002.

Survivors: sisters; Janice (Dave) Diede, Glenrock, WY and Mary Ann (Pedro) Avitua, Minot; brothers, Mark Jacobson, San Diego, CA, Jim (Joyce) Henricks, Westhope, ND; two nephews, four nieces, three grand nieces and two grandnephews and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Ida, one nephew and a foster brother.

Memorial Service: Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Friends may sign a register book one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Private family burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Maxbass, ND.
