Evelyn Nienow Irwin • 1920 - 2007 Evelyn Eileen Jones was born on July 15, 1920, the daughter of Orra and Hazel (Brown) Jones in Stanton, ND. She graduated from Minot High School in 1938. Evelyn was married to Ivan Nienow on June 15, 1938, in Minot. Together they had six children, two sets of twins, Donna and Dianne, Darryl and Dennis, Darla and Debra. They owned and operated Nienow's Housemoving for many years. She spent many hours flagging as houses were moved down the road. Ivan passed away on January 11, 1972. Evelyn married Lee Irwin on February 14, 1974, in Minot. Together they built a home at Rice Lake, ND. Lee died in September 10, 1990. Evelyn continued to reside at Rice Lake until moving to Minot in 2001. She enjoyed writing poetry, taking pictures of her family, the flowers in her yard, sewing and crocheting. Every member of her family received an afghan from her. She loved spending time at the lake and especially with her children and grandchildren. She lived for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved having her pride and joy, her great granddaughter, KyLee, stay with her. She was very proud to be a great-great grandmother. She was a member of Bread of Life Lutheran Church, Minot. Surviving family includes: children, Donna (Myron) Lahti, Minot; Dennis Nienow, Minot; Darla (Bob) Otteson, South Prairie, ND; Debra (Lyle) Renfrow, Minot; step-children, Lane (Cheryl) Irwin, Rice Lake, ND; and Marlys Remmington, Minot; grandchildren, Bernie, Doug (Kim), Roddy, Ilene (Johnny), Denise (Wayne) Johnny, Tara (Luke), Kory (Daisy), Austyn, Jessie (Jeremy), and Justin; step-grandchildren Dwight, Troy, Stacy and Travis; great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Casey, JeAnna, Michael, Stephanie, Naomi, Griffin, Andrew, Kristy, Lenora, KyLee, Kobe and twin-great grandchildren, Tanner and Tobin; great-great-granddaughter, Addy; sisters, Grace Oliver, Bismarck; Clara (Chuck) Icenogle, Scappoose, OR; Arlene (Jerry) Konchas, Vancouver, WA; brother, Clyde (Harriett) Jones, Scappoose, OR; sister-in-law, Ione Jones, Scappoose, OR; an aunt Erna in California; her dog Molly and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan Nienow; husband, Lee Irwin; son, Darryl Nienow; daughter, Dianne McLaughlin; great-granddaughter, Nicole; sister, Gladys Saunders; and brother, Clifford Jones. Funeral: Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at 11:00 a.m.
