Luella Marie Ingebretson
1912 - 2009 Luella Pirkl was born on December 8, 1912, to Joseph and Anna (Marek) Pirkl on the family farm two miles from Des Lacs, ND. At an early age she moved to Lewiston, MT and then to Rolette, ND, where she was raised and educated. Lue worked at the grocery store, the Rolette State Bank and the Walen General Merchandise Store in Rolette. Lue married Stanley R. Ingebretson on December 25, 1941 in Rolette. They moved to San Pedro, CA, but after a short time returned to Rolette. Stanley was called to serve in World War II and after being discharged he and Lue moved to Minot, where they lived and where Lue worked for Sears for 20 years, retiring in 1978. Stanley died February 23, 1972. She continued to live in Minot. Lue was a member of First Lutheran Church in Minot and the Minot American Legion Auxiliary. Lue enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk, gardening, walking, sewing and crocheting hangers. She liked visiting with her neighbor Addie Guy, from across the fence. She spent hours playing solitaire and completing word finds and looked forward to the monthly Sears retiree luncheons. An avid traveler, Lue took bus tours to sights in the US with her niece Lee. She had a special likeness for ice cream and was an excellent cook, too. She made the best honey cookies. Lue would have been a great-grandmother in April to Eric and Ember's baby and was looking forward to it. She'll be missed more than she'll ever know.
