James Orland Hystad 1939 - 2003 James Orland Hystad, 63, Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Velva, ND, died Thursday, March 6, 2003, of cancer at a Rochester, MN hospital. He was born August 12, 1939, in Velva, ND, the son of T. Meier and Alma (Sather) Hystad. He was reared and educated in ND and graduated from North Dakota State University in 1962. On August 22, 1958, James married Joyce Schneider of Fort Myers, FL. He was a pilot for the North Dakota National Guard and then went to work for Northwest Airlines where he was employed for 34 years. James was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors: wife, Joyce, Fort Myers, FL; sister, Arlene Farber (Gary), Williston, ND; brother, Don Hystad (Joan), Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Milner Hystad. Memorial Service: Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Visitation: Wednesday, March 12, 2003 from 9 a.m. until service time at the Thompson-Larson funeral Home, Minot. Burial: North Prairie Cemetery, Simcoe, ND. Burial at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
