Everett Donald Hunter 1919 - 2004 Everett Donald Hunter, 85, Minot, died Monday, December 27, 2004, in a Minot hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Everett was born November 25, 1919, in Minot to Pearl Iowa (Galusha) Hunter and George V. Hunter. He was raised in Minot and attended Roosevelt School and Minot High School. He worked as a taxi driver before serving in World War II as a medical corpsman with Company A of the 422nd Infantry of the United States Army. He participated in the North African, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, and Central European Campaigns. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned to Minot. He married Ruth Catherine (Walker) Hunter on January 12, 1949. He worked as a city bus driver, a truck driver for Gamble Robinson, and a pickup-and-delivery driver for the Great Northern and Burlington Northern Railways. Everett was a talented artist in pencils, pastels, and oils, as well as a fine woodworker and jack of all trades. He had a sharp wit and a keen sense of fairness and social justice. He served for many years as an officer in his Teamster's Union Local. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In recent years, he enjoyed playing pinochle with the guys at the Moose Lodge. Survivors: Wife, Ruth, Minot; daughter, Dianna Hunter, Duluth, MN; granddaughter, Laura (Kelly) Waswick, rural Minot; great-grandchildren, Tyler Hunter and Samantha Waswick; daughter-in-law, Barb Hunter, Minot; special extended family members, Deborah Anderson and Cindy Hunter; and many dear brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews survive. Everett was preceded in death by his son, David; daughter, Gloria Jean; all six of his brothers and sisters; his grandsons, Greg and Keith Hunter; and his first wife, Thersa King. Funeral: Friday, December 31, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot. Visitation: Thursday, December 30, 2004, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND. Officiant: Rev.
