Victoria Mae Hummel 1951 - 2008 Victoria was born on November 23, 1951, in Bismarck, ND the daughter of Leonard and Ida (Reimann) Hummel. She was raised in Garrison for three years before moving to Minot, where she graduated form high school. She furthered her education at the Colorado Institute of the Arts, in Denver, CO. She worked as a self-employed, graphic artist for many years. Victoria created unique pieces of furniture, such as small tables, mirror and earring holders, doing the carpentry work herself. She also illustrated children's books. Victoria enjoyed sewing, quilting and other crafts as well. She spent the last two years fighting ALS while living with her brother in Nampa, ID. She was getting care by an ALS group in Nampa. Victoria enjoyed a wide range of music, including contemporary flute musician, Eddy Arnold. She always said she listened to him before she was born. She always wanted to learn to play the flute. She also had a love for cats, two of whom she leaves behind, Pearl and Nicky. She once drove from Denver to Minot to pick up Pearl who was a kitten to her parent's cat. Her favorite cat, Timmy just passed away a few years ago. Survivors: her parents, Leonard and Ida Hummel, Minot; brothers: Adrian Pierce, Nampa, ID, Clifford Hummel, Minot, ND; sisters: Claudia Hummel-Lamaster, Minot, and Julie Ann Trader, Monclair, VA; one niece, three nephews and several cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, however friends may sign a register book on Saturday from 9-1 at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Memorial Service: Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot Burial: A private family burial will take place at a later time. Officiant: Rev. Donald Andrews, Chaplain, Trinity Health Poem Reader: Joyce Falkenstien Music: Special CD selections, "Amazing Grace" and "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" Honorary Bearers: Victoria's family and friends Immediately following the memorial service, there will be
lunch and fellowship at the Greenhouse Café backroom.
