Ida Hummel 1930 - 2010 Ida Dorothy Reimann was born near Coleharbor, ND, to Lily and Herman Reimann on May 19, 1930. At the time of her birth, her family was homesteading in Loring, MT. Her mother returned to Coleharbor to give birth to Ida at her parent's farm. Shortly after her birth, Ida and her mother rejoined the family in MT. In 1943, the family returned to Coleharbor, where Ida graduated from high school in 1948. Ida began dating Leonard Hummel in 1944 and they were married on November 14, 1948. Ida and Leonard lived in Garrison for six years and raised four children there: Adrian, Victoria and the twins, Clifford and Claudia. In 1954, they moved to Minot and Julie was born there in 1959. Leonard owned and operated Hummel's Bee Line and Ida worked as the company's bookkeeper and administrator. Together they ran a successful business for many years. In 1973, they had their current home built on 4 1/2 acres just outside of Minot and continued to live there after they retired the business. Ida was a loving and goodhearted person. She was a wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend to a great many people. She enjoyed painting, wood carving, reading, gardening and playing cards with family. Leonard and Ida spent many weekends at Lake Sacagawea where she enjoyed reading in the sun and walking along the beach collecting unusual rocks that she found.
