Opal Horvath 1914 - 2002

Opal Evangeline (Doeling) Horvath, 87, Yuma, AZ, formerly of Fargo, died Thursday in a Minot nursing home.

She was born November 22, 1914, in Casey Township, North Dakota, the daughter of Gustave and Ida Doeling. She was reared and educated in Casey Township and graduated from Casey #2 Consolidated High School in 1932. In 1933, she moved to Joliet, IL. On February 22, 1934, she married Peter J. Horvath in Morris, IL and they were later divorced. She moved to North Dakota where she raised her family and attended business college. Opal worked as a bookkeeper in Fargo until retiring in 1979. She then moved to Yuma, AZ where she was an active member of the Garden Club.

Survivors: sons and daughter-in-laws, Gordon and Maxine Horvath, Yuma, AZ, David and Joan Horvath, Seattle, WA, Bob and Cathy Horvath, Minot and Ron and Kathie Horvath, Omaha, NE; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by eight sisters and brothers and one son, Peter Horvath, Burlington, VT.

Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND on July 8, 2002 at 2:00 p.m.
