Jayne Elizabeth Holwegner 1955 - 2011
Jayne Elizabeth Holwegner, 56, died Friday, November 18, 2011 in her Minot, ND home.
Jayne was born on June 1, 1955 in Oakland, CA a daughter of Robert and Mary Ann (Tallman) Palda. She was raised in North Dakota and graduated from Minot High School in 1973. She then met her life-long partner, Dan Holwegner, on a blind date in the “twin cities”. From then on, life was a wonderful journey. Jayne and Dan spent 20 years traveling during Dan’s US Air Force career. They returned to Minot to afford their children the opportunity to attend great schools and to be able to grow up near their grandparents.
Jayne worked as a para-educater for many years for the Minot Public Schools, having the time of her life working with the special needs children. It was a joy for her to come to work every day.
Jayne and Dan were blessed with three children, Jerica and Ashley and Nicholas, and four grandchildren, Riley, Kya, Meegan and Sawyer. Each had their individuality and were so different, but loved the same.
Jayne belonged to the most valued club on earth, the “RKMS Club” (Riley, Kya, Meegan, Sawyer)
“To all that know me, love me and have helped me through this disease called cancer, I commend you and love you all so very much. Take a part of my spirit, embrace it, run with it and then live your life like I did…Every Day is a good day, no time to spare. Until we meet again,” “Thanks for a great life “Sally” (Dan)-you have been my rock.”
Jayne is survived by her husband, Dan; her daughters Jerica Irmen of Minot and Ashley (Morgan) Leigh of Minot; her son Nicholas (Natasha) Holwegner of Minot; her grandchildren, Riley Holwegner, Kya Kamrowski, Meegan Liegh and Sawyer Leigh; her mother Mary Ann Palda of Minot; her sister Susan (Steven) Holmly of Hot Springs Village, AR; and her brother Mark Palda of Minot. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Palda and her son-in-law Matt Irmen.
Memorials are preferred to Hospice, or, please plant a tree to re-grow Minot.
A celebration of Jayne’s life will take place on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moose Lodge in Minot.
