Wallace Holter 19 - 2009
Wallace
V.H. Holter, 76, Minot, died Friday, February 6, 2009 in a Minot
hospital.
Wallace was born on September 25, 1932, a son of Arthur and Celina
(St. Croix) Holter on the rural family home near Norma, ND. At
a young age he moved with his family to Clifford and Galesburg,
ND before returning to Norma, where he was a member of the only
graduating class in 1950. During his time in Norma, Wallace worked
on the Reischke family farm and Tolley grain elevator as a young
man.
In 1951, he enlisted into the US Air Force, proudly serving his
country at Laredo, TX. He was honorably discharged in 1955.
Wallace started working at Bridgeman Creamery in 1956 where he
met the love of his life Gladys Clementich. In his 40 year career
at Bridgeman he worked on the loading dock and moved up to Production
Manager until his retirement in 1996. On March 15, 1957, Wallace
was united in marriage to Gladys at Immanuel Baptist Church,
Minot. The couple made their home in Minot. Wallace graduated
from Minot State College in 1971. Wallace continued to live in
Minot in the family home they shared for 49 years after Gladys
death on August 31, 2005.
Wallace was the type of man that would always put everyone else's
needs above his own. He had a very special bond with his wife,
children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters. He had many friends
and each day mentioned how fortunate he was to have them in his
life. He was very active and a member with the Frozen Fingers
Festival, Norsk Hostfest, the Ward County Centennial, and the
Immanuel Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge
and former member of the Sertoma Club. In his spare time his
passion and talent of music and dancing touched many lives. He
played at the nursing homes, assisted living facilities and numerous
special events. He touched many lives with his voice, guitar,
generosity and love and will be deeply missed by all that shared
his life.
