Irene Holter 1927 - 2005 Irene Holter, 78, 3212 7th St SW #15, Minot, died Thursday, November 17, 2005 in a Minot hospital. Irene Steen was born on September 3, 1927, the daughter of Iver and Olga (Arneson) Steen in Kenmare, ND. She was reared and educated in the Kenmare area, graduating from Kenmare High School in 1946. On January 9, 1949, she was united in marriage to Howard "Cliff' Holter in Stanley. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Stanley for a time before moving to New England, ND, for one year. In 1960, they moved to Minot, where Irene worked for the Minot Commission on Aging for a number of years. Howard passed away on November 24, 1995. Following his death, Irene continued to live in the Minot area. Irene was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. She enjoyed playing cards with the "Antique Women" at Dakota Terrace apartments, which all the residents were like extended family to her. She is survived by: Sons: Dean (Cora) Holter, Bremerton,
WA; Rodney (Kathy) Holter, Hartland, WI; six grandchildren: Dianne
Holter, Nicole (Ryan) Hornickel, Davey Holter, Sara Holter, Megan
Holter, Kyle Holter, one great grandchild, Angelique; brother:
Grant (June) Steen, Kenmare; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
also survive. Visitation: Sunday, November 20, 2005 from noon until 5:00 p.m. and Monday, November 21, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. until noon at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Prayer service will be Sunday at 5:00 in the funeral home. Funeral Service: Monday, November 21, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. Burial: Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, ND. Officiant: Pastor Janet Hernes-Mathistad Music: Processional hymn, "Amazing Grace"
