Lavon Schmidt Holte • 1936 - 2006 Lavon Schmidt Holte, 69, Voltaire, ND, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 in a Minot hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Lavon Schmidt was born on September 19, 1936 the daughter of Milton and Ethel (Bachmeier) Schmidt in McHenry County, ND. She was reared in the Voltaire area and graduated from Velva High School in 1955. On September 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dale Holte in Velva, ND. The couple made their home in the Voltaire area their entire life. In September of 2005, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family celebration at Fort Stevenson State Park in Garrison, ND. Lavon and Dale could be found enjoying their favorite pastime, spending time in their RV. They would visit their many friends they made at the campgrounds. They would also spend many hours each year decorating for Christmas for the many people that enjoyed visiting their house each year to enjoy the festive atmosphere. Lavon was always keeping busy tending to her flowers and garden. Lavon and Dale attended all of her grandchildren's activities, and was always making one delicious meal after another. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and will live on in our hearts forever. She left us with wonderful memories that we will always cherish. She is survived by her husband, Dale, Voltaire, ND; son: David (Cindy) Holte, Rapid City, SD; daughter, Mary (Bob) Prouty, Harvey, ND; grandchildren: Landon, Casey, Amanda, and Emily; brothers: Melvin (Margaret) Schmidt, Minot, ND; Merle (Nancy) Schmidt, Louisburg, KS. numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation: Wednesday, March 15, 2006 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva, ND Funeral service: Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 10:30 at the Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, ND Burial: Thursday 2:00 p.m. at Rosehill Memorial Park,
