Howard Holmes 1912 - 2002

Howard Holmes, 90, 305 8th Ave. NE , Minot, died Sunday, in a Minot nursing home.

He was born April 16, 1912, in Moorhead, MN, to William and Bertha (Zvorak) Holmes. He was reared and educated in the Moorhead area and later in Minot where he graduated from high school. He worked at Saunders Drug, which later changed names to Dakota Drug until entering the United States Army in 1942. He served during World War II and was honorably discharged on December 21, 1945. Howard returned to Minot and went back to work at Dakota Drug, where he worked until his retirement. He entered Trinity Homes in May 2000 where he lived until the time of his death.

He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was also a member of the American Legion, both of Minot.

Survivors: brother, Robert Holmes, Minot; sister-in-law, Mavis Holmes, Holbrook, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Grace Holmes and Helen Kyle and brother, Ray Holmes.

Funeral: Thursday, 10:00 a.m., Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at Trinity Homes.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
