Ronald Hoffer 1943 - 2009

Ronald Hoffer, 65, Minot, died Friday, April 3, 2009 in a Minot nursing care center.

He was born on October 8, 1943 in Kief ND a son of Fred and Anna (Grosz) Hoffer. He was raised on the farm and educated in the area until moving to Minot when he was 12 years old. On the farm, he attended a one room school house and in Minot attended Minot High School.

In his early years, Ronnie worked in a bicycle shop. As a young adult, he went to Bismarck to learn auto body repair. He spent the remainder of his life in this field, working most recently for Jerome's Auto Body.

Ronnie enjoyed motorcycles and Mercury cars, of which he owned several over the years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and visiting with family and friends. When his mother was still alive, his daily ritual was to have coffee with Audrey in the morning and go to his mother's home at 7:30 a.m. to play a hand of cards.

He was once married to Marjorie Bertsch with whom he had one son, Steven.
He was a member of the Salvation Army.

Those who shared in his life: Son Steven and his wife Lisa; his grandchildren, Jessica and Christopher Hoffer, all of Minot. brothers; Randy (Judy) Hoffer of Devils Lake, ND, Roger (Dorothy) Hoffer of St. John, ND, Timothy "Bud" Hoffer and Richard Hoffer both of Minot; sisters, Judy Hiller of Burlington, Diana (Dennis) Wittstruck of Grand Rapids, MN, Linda Manning and Donald Midgett of North Carolina and Debbie (Gary) Gallaher of New Jersey. He is also survived by a special friend, Audrey Morgan of Minot.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Paul Wittstruck.

Funeral: Monday, April 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot ND.

Visitation: Sunday, April 5, 2009 from noon until 5 p.m. and Monday prior to the funeral service.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
