Francis Leo Hofer 1920 - 2003
Francis Leo Hofer, age 83, passed away at his home in Larimore,
ND, Tuesday, August 19, 2003 from cancer.
Francis, the son of John and Myrtle (McCoy) Hofer, was born
in Northwood Hospital, Northwood, ND February 27, 1920. He attended
and graduated high school from Logan Center School.
Francis and Dorothy Fugleberg of McCanna, ND, were united in
marriage January 5, 1950 in St. Stephen's Catholic Church of
Larimore. The couple lived and farmed near Logan Center until
1961 when they moved to a farm south of Larimore. They retired
in the fall of 1984 and moved in to their house in Larimore.
Francis served as: District Chairman of the District #19 Democratic
Party, Grace Township Supervisor, Trustee of St. Stephen's Church,
and on the Board of Bellevue Cemetery Association. He was also
a member of the Larimore Senior Center, Larimore Men's Bowling
League, and the Larimore Golf Club. He particularly enjoyed the
time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy in 1995, his
parents, brother James,
and several aunts and uncles.
Francis is survived by:
Daughter and son-in-law- Jacquelyn and Jim Schoemer of Kenmare,
ND
Son and daughter-in-law Paul and Tammy Hofer , Larimore.
Eight grandchildren:
Shanna (Shane) Johnson and great-granddaughter Sydney of Bismarck
Patrick (Stacey) Schoemer and great-granddaughter Taylor of Kenmare
Alyssa (Brad) Binstock of Bismarck
Karissa, Alexis, Brayden, Caleb, and Levi of Larimore.
He is also survived by brothers:
Joe (Norma) Hofer of Larimore,
Ray, (Marion) Hofer of Larimore , and
Sister-in-law Elaine Hofer of Fargo.
Visitation will be Friday, August 22, 2003 from 2 to
6pm at the Brown
Funeral Home, Larimore.
Rosary services will be held in St. Stephen's Catholic
Church Friday, August 22, 2003 at 8pm, with visitation one hour
before the service.
Funeral Services for Francis will be held in St. Stephen's
Catholic Church
of Larimore on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 11 a.m.
Father Thaines Arulandu, officiating.
Music selections are: 'Be Not Afraid', 'Peace Prayer of
St.
Francis', and 'On Eagles Wings', Brenda Anderson organist, Kevin
Nelson
soloist.
Casketbearers are: Dennis McCoy, Mitch McCoy, Ronnie Roch,
Don Gratton, Joe S. Hofer, Dusty Bratlie.
