Donald Heringer 1948 - 2005

Donald Heringer, 57, Minot, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, in a Minot nursing home.

He was born on March 25, 1948, in Minot, the son of Mildred Heringer-Kalamaha. He attended school in Anamoose for a couple of years before moving to Minot.

Don worked as a welder for a few years before going to work as a truck driver. He drove truck for Cenex in Minot for over 13 years and also worked for Cloverdale Meat as a meat cutter. He also worked with the Minot Rural Fire Department for over 12 years.

He taught hunters safety for the Minot Area Game and Fish Department for 10 years. He taught numerous children including his own.

Don loved spending time with his grandson Tyler, the two were inseparable. Don enjoyed socializing with his coffee buddies at Schatz Crossroads, Krolls Diner and Ryan's Family Dining.

Don was once married to Brenda Pfeifer.

Survivors: children, Chris (Kari) and their son, Tyler Heringer, Corey Heringer and Candace Heringer, all of Minot; mother, Mildred, Kalamaha, Minot; brothers, Kevin Kalamaha, Minot and Ken Kalamaha, Minneapolis, MN, several cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother Gary, who died in 1966, his grandparents and his step father, Joe Kalamaha.

Funeral Service: Friday, May 20, 2005, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Minot.

Visitation: Today, Thursday, May 19, 2005, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Prayer Service: Today, Thursday, May 19, 2005, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
