Blanche Herda, 93, Minot, died Monday, December 31, 2007 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Blanche was born on October 24, 1914, in Adams, ND, the daughter of John and Anna (Bina) Herda. She was reared and educated in Whitman, ND and graduated from Whitman High School where she played the cornet in the school band. She worked for various people in the area as a housekeeper. She gave birth to a daughter, Shirley in 1941 and she died of lung cancer in 1953. She moved to Minot in the 1980's to be near her sister, Adeline Mackey, but continued to live near Whitman in the summer months and Minot in the winter months until moving to Minot permanently later. She entered the Trinity Homes in 2004.

Blanche was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.

Survivors: Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Shirley, a brother, Henry Herda and a sister, Adeline Mackey.

Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot, ND.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Prior to the service on Thursday, January 10, 2007 at the Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.
