Robert G. Hendrickson 1937 - 2004

Robert G. Hendrickson, 67, Velva, ND, died Monday, August 23, 2004, in his home.

Robert was born on December 15, 1937, the son of Harold and Helen (Nerem) Hendrickson on the family farm located in Falsen Township of McHenry County, near Denbigh, ND. He was raised and educated there and attended Oak Valley #2 and graduated from Velva High School in 1958. He later attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.

Robert was employed as a farm laborer for various farmers in the area and as a general laborer at the Velva Creamery. For the last 20 years, he assisted a lot of the senior citizens from Velva with their mail, groceries, lawn mowing and any errands.

Robert was a member of the Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, and the Velva Senior Citizens. He was a former member of the Norway Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed.

Robert enjoyed helping people, reading, and utilizing his John Deere mower.

Surviving family includes: brothers: Arlyn (Donna) Hendrickson of Velva; Lyle Hendrickson of Rapid City, SD; Roger Hendrickson of Wichita Falls, TX; Manville (Jan) Hendrickson of Hazen, ND; and Ardell Hendrickson of North Mankato, MN; sister-in-law: Deloris Hendrickson of Minot;
numerous nieces, and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale Hendrickson; and an infant nephew.

Funeral Service: Saturday, August 28, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Interment: Velva Community Cemetery, Velva.

Visitation: Friday, August 27, 2004, from 2 until 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva.
Memorials are preferred to Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.
