Lois Jean Heizelman • 1929 - 2006 Lois Jean Heizelman, 76, PO Box 242, Sawyer, ND, passed away peacefully into her Lord's arms on Monday, March 13, 2006, in a Minot nursing home. She was born on April 1, 1929, at her parents Adolph and Jenny (Stantdorf) Aamondt's home in Brilliant Township, Ward County, rural Sawyer, ND. She was reared in McHenry and Ward County. She attended Sawyer Public Schools and graduated on May 26, 1948. Lois Jean was united in marriage to Melvin Heizelman on June 5, 1949, in Sawyer, ND. The couple made their home on the family farm in rural Sawyer where they raised their five children. They moved into Sawyer in September of 1973, where Lois Jean worked as a cook at the Sawyer High School for many years and as a caregiver in Minot until ill health forced her to retire. Lois Jean entered Manor Care Nursing Home in November of 2004. Lois Jean just loved her farm. If she could have moved her farm into her yard in Sawyer, she would have. She loved old dump rakes, wagon wheels, pheasant feathers and birdhouses. Survivors: husband of 57 years, Melvin, Sawyer; children, Shirley (Gary) Lozensky, Bismarck, ND, Dennis (Roxanne) Heizelman, Fargo, ND, Dean Heizelman, Sawyer, Dale (Cathy) Heizelman, Mapleton, IA, and Darin (Lori) Heizelman, Sawyer; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Lowaine Larson, Minot and June (James) Quinlen, Minot and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Jenny, brothers, Vernon and Otto Ray Aamondt and her father-and mother-in-law, Julius (Lydia) Heizelman. Funeral Service: Thursday, March 16, 2006, at 1 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. Visitation: Today, Wednesday, March 15, 2006 from noon until 8 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and then on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. Officiates: Rev Adine Harsch and Rev.
