Myron L. Hegre 1935- 2011 Myron L. Hegre was born May 21, 1935, a son of Leonard and Agnes (Amundson) Hegre, in Northwood, ND. He attended elementary school in Lignite, ND, and attended high school in Minot, ND. Myron enlisted in the United States Navy July 15, 1952. He proudly served his country during the Korean War and served on the Lake Champlain and the USS Bennington ships. He was honorably discharged May 31, 1955. Myron married Catherine A. Klein October 13, 1956, at Little Flower Catholic Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where Myron worked for several Minot businesses. They included, Mowbray & Son Plumbing & Heating, Don Moe Dodge, Whites Purity Dairy, and he was a part time custodian at Central Power Electric Coop, Inc. For 25 years, Myron worked for Bridgeman Land O’Lakes. He retired from Bridgeman in October of 1997. Following their retirement, Myron and Catherine spent a few winters in Arizona. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot, where he had served as an usher. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Eagles Aerie, Moose Lodge, and the American Legion Post # 26, and the Teamsters Local Union 123, all of Minot. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, going to polka fests, and spending time at their lake cabin. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The kindness shown by Father Bruce Krebs, Deacon Steve Streitz, Jeanette Klier, the staff of Trinity Hospice and the CancerCare Center in Minot, will be forever remembered. His loving family includes: wife of 54 years, Catherine, Minot; children, Tom (Kim) Hegre, Jayne (Rick) Reisenauer, Judy (Clarey) Tryhus, and Lisa (Steve) Sperling, all of Minot; grandchildren, David, Melissa, and Ashley Reisenauer; Kristin McKibbin; Tasha Hegre; Tayten Mau; Stephanie, Lindsey, and Travis Sperling; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Gray, and Maecey McKibbin; brothers-in-law, Bill (Clara) Klein, Norwich, Ed (Lenora) Klein, Norwich, and Jerry Mikel, Hayfield, MN; sister-in-law, Beatrice Merck, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
