Leona Clara Haupt, 73, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, in a Phoenix, AZ hospital.

He was born on April 16, 1929, in the Max and Garrison areas, the daughter of Benjamin and Emelie (Buechle) Fetzer.

Leona married Robert Dale Scott in 1952, and the couple resided in Underwood, ND, Wolf Point, MT, and Brighton, CO, before moving to Minot, ND, in 1962. Robert passed away on August 21, 1965.

In June of 1967, Leona married Arlow M. Haupt in Minot. In 1968, the couple moved to Surrey, ND. Leona was worked as a cook with the Underwood Hotel, Woolworths Department Store, the Riverside Restaurant and the Surrey Public Schools. Leona and Arlow were active members in the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Minot and the Minot American Legion.

Leona enjoyed cooking, sewing, embroidery, quilting, camping, fishing, canning, gardening, entertaining friends and playing cards. In their retirement years, Leona and Arlow wintered in Apache Junction, AZ.

Survivors: husband, Arlow M. Haupt, Surrey, ND; children, Robert L. Scott, Minot, Brenda L. Dunn, Bismarck, ND, Albert M. Haupt, Colorado Springs, CO and Vicki Weed, Spokane, WA; Grandchildren, Sara Dunn, Grand Forks, ND, Sheyann Dunn, Bismarck, Jesse Dunn Bismarck, and Melissa Haupt, Colorado Springs; four sisters, three brothers and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert, her parents, Benjamin and Emilie Fetzer, four brothers, and one sister.
