Emma Hauger 1906 - 2003 Emma Hauger, 96, Kenmare, died Monday, April 28, 2003, in the Kenmare Hospital. Emma was born September 4, 1906, near Coteau, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Kathryn (Ramaker) Hauger. She was raised and educated in that area and graduated from Coteau High School. She moved to Minnesota working at various jobs and returned to the Coteau area in 1942. There she worked on her sister's farm, Edna Olson, and helped raise Edna's six children at the time of her husband's death. In 1948 she moved to Bowbells and cared for her parents. In 1957 she moved to Minnesota and worked as a nurse's aid at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, Minnesota, until she retired. In 1983 she moved to Kenmare, where she was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, and St. Jude's Circle. Emma is survived by many nieces and nephews, Walter, Norman and Ruben Olson, all of Kenmare, Ethel Menzie, Fargo, Agnes Frick, Watford City, Alvina Overton, Kenmare, Leo Christiansen, Bowbells, Alice Christiansen, Lignite, Evanglin Myer, Anoka, MN, S.M. "Bud" Mihm and Galyn Mihm, both of California, Claude Volhardt, Drake, ND, and Patty Flynn of Minnesota; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Kathryn Hauger; sisters, Anna Christiansen, Edna Olson, Clara Mihm, Margaret Volhardt, and Helen Noterman. Funeral: Thursday, May 1, 2003, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare, ND. Visitation and prayer service: A vigil prayer service will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND, with visitation from 6:00 p.m., to 7:30 p.m. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
