Russell Harvey 1923 - 2006

Russell Harvey, 82, Minot, ND, died Saturday, February 18, 2006, at a Minot hospital.

Raymond Russell Harvey was born on December 19, 1923, the son of Raymond and Mildred (Kelly) Harvey in Hanks, ND. He was raised and educated in Douglas, ND, and attended Torning Township School. As a young adult, he assisted his parents with the operation of the family farm.

Russell was once married to Thelma Walkup. They were later divorced. Russell was once married to Clara Samuel. They were later divorced.

He owned his own semi truck and would haul steel for Murray Warner, and would also haul grain with it. He also was the owner/operator of two Harvey's ENCO Stations in Minot for a number of years. Following his retirement, he worked part-time as a maintenance worker at Minot Realty for several years.

He enjoyed farming, trucking, fishing, hunting and horses. He especially enjoyed spending time at the Harvey family farm with his nephew, Alan, and his family.

We would like to thank Alan and Donna, and their children, Deann, Wade and Wendy, for all their love and kindness they showed to Russ.

Surviving family includes: daughters, Kay Marie (Jack) Gilbert, Maryland, Candy, Des Lacs, ND, Sandy (Jake) Boschee, Minot; sons, Dan Harvey, Minot; and Dr. Michael (Lisa) Harvey, Fargo;
sisters, Catherine Gay, Spokane, WA, and Patricia (Lyle) Rakness, Minot;
brothers, Jim (Frankie) Harvey, Clarkston, WA; and Jack Harvey, Iowa;
and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and host of friends.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Rick and Bobby Harvey; and brother, William.

Memorial Service: Thursday, February 23, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register book on Thursday one hour prior to the service time at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
