Lee A. Harris 1957 - 2005

Lee A. Harris, 47, 16301 55th St. NE, Glenburn, ND, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at his home surrounded by his family and his little dogs, Lucy and Luther.

He was born June 30, 1957, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Raymond A. and Doreen (Pruisner) Harris. In 1975, he graduated from Dike High School in Dike, IA. He worked for KMART in Waterloo and for Brandt Industries in Cedar Fall, IA.

In 1976, Lee entered the United States Air Force and in 1977, was stationed at the Minot Air Force Base in Minot, ND with the 91st Squadron FMMS. In the fall of 1992, Lee was stationed at the Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, FL, and later returned to the Minot Air Force Base where he acted as a liaison and traveled to Russia and the Ukraine inspecting rocket launch sites.

Lee married Mary Kidd on September 21, 1995, in Minot, ND. Lee retired from the United States Air Force in 1997. He continued to live in North Dakota and worked fulltime at MLT in Minot.

He was a former member of the Reformed Church in Stout, IA and the Jaycees in Dike, IA.

Survivors: former wife and best friend, Mary Kidd, Glenburn; mother, Doreen Harris-Dencklau, Byhalia, MS; step-daughter, Sarah Griffith, Glenburn; brothers, Arlyn (Tracy) Harris; Roger (Marcia) Harris and Neal (Monica) Harris all of Byhalia, MS; sisters, Judy (Richard) Williams, Byhalia, MS and Diane Harris, Waterloo, IA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and his extended family at MLT also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond and his grandparents.

Funeral Service: Saturday, July 2, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Visitation: Friday, July 1, 2005, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Prayer Service: Friday, July 1, 2005, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A private family interment will take place at a later date.
