Margene Dorthea Hanson 1925- 2006

Margene Dorthea Hanson, 81, Minot, died Friday, October 20, 2006.

She was born on February 8, 1925, in Sanish, ND, the daughter of Mathias Peter and Lottie Launetta (Kooken) Hansen. She was reared in Sanish and attended school in Parshall and Plaza. After graduation, she worked on a farm in Parshall and Plaza.

She married Myron Hanson on October 2, 1943, in Sydney, MT. The couple made there home at 612 12th St NE, Minot where they raised their children. Margene worked at Trinity Health in Minot as a Nurses Aide for 18 years. Margene's special passion was her unconditional care giving to family and friends.

Margene enjoyed many hobbies including needlework, quilting, gardening, camping, traveling and dancing.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary both in Minot.

Survivors: husband of 63 years, Myron, Minot; sons, Melford (Kathy) Hanson, Salt Springs, FL, Galen (fiancé Carmen Hickle) Hanson, Bismarck, ND, and Clinton (Jylann) Hanson, Des Lacs, ND; daughters, Marleen (Don) Sommerfield, Bismarck, ND; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Joan) Hansen, Minot and Carl Hansen, Barron, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters and three brothers.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot

Visitation: Tuesday, October 24, 2006, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Burial will take place on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.Officiant Pastor Joel Samuelson, House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Bismarck
