Judith H. Hanson 1914 - 2006

Judith H. Hanson, 91, Minot, died Monday, January 9, 2006, in a Minot nursing home.

She was born on March 17, 1914, in Ryder, ND, the daughter of Otto and Gertrude (Hauge) Witt. She was the middle child of 5 children. Judy graduated in 1932, from Douglas High School.

On October 17, 1932, she married Harold Hanson in Minot. The couple made their home in Ryder until 1939, when they moved to their family to Logan, ND, where they farmed for many years. The couple retired from farming in 1980 and moved to Minot. She most recently resided at Manor Care Health Services.

She was very involved with Augustana Lutheran Church and the Women's Circle. She also enjoyed being a member of the Valley Homemakers.

Survivors: daughter, Audrey Mahoney, Minot; sons, Duane (Colleen) Hanson, Fort Collins, CO, and Marvin (Judy) Hanson, Homer, AK; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin "Grant" (Loretta) Witt, Minot and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Judith Elaine, husband, Harold, her parents, sister, Ruby and brothers, John and Bill Witt.

Funeral Service: Friday, January 13, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot

Visitation: Thursday, January 12, 2006, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot

Officiant: Pastor Tim Eighmy, Minot State University Campus Minister
