Harold Edwin Hanson 1910 - 2004 Harold Edwin Hanson, 94, Minot, died Thursday, August 19, 2004, in a Minot nursing home. Harold was born May 3, 1910, at Ryder, ND, to Olaf and Ellen (Lewis) Hanson. He was the second oldest of a family of seven sons and one daughter. Harold was educated at Ryder ND. On October 17th, 1932, he married Judith Witt at Minot. They made their home in Ryder until 1939, when they moved their family to Logan, ND, where they farmed for many years. Harold retired from farming in 1980, and the couple moved to Minot. He most recently resided at Manor Care. He served on the Sundre Township Board for many years and the Bell School Board. He was a lifetime charter member of the Moose Lodge, as well as a member of both the Elks and the Eagles Aerie for a number of years in Minot. He was very involved with Augustana Lutheran Church. Survivors: his wife of 71 years, Judith, Minot; daughter Audrey Mahoney, Minot; sons: Duane (Colleen) Hanson, Fort Collins, CO; Marvin (Judy) Hanson, Homer, AK; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Amanda White, Billings, MT; brothers: Wendell (Marlys) Hanson, Ryder, ND, and Olaf Hanson, Jr., Bozeman, MT; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by and infant daughter, Judith Elaine, his parents, and four brothers, Manfred, Earl, Phillip, and Amos Hanson. Funeral Service: Monday, Aug 23, 2004, at 2:00 pm at Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot. Visitation: Sunday, August 22, 2004, from Noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
