Harris Arnold Hanson 1928 - 2003 Harris Arnold Hanson, 75, 220 62nd St. SW, Minot, died Monday, November 17, 2003, in his home. Harris was born on June 8, 1928 in Parshall, ND, the son of Thomas and Leah (Bockness) Hanson. He was reared and educated in the Parshall area attending country schools north of Parshall. As a young man he worked for area farmers and later moved to the West Coast with a friend and worked in various areas there doing odd jobs including carpentry work and working as a logger. He was inducted into the US Army on July 22, 1952 in Stanley, ND. He served during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant on April 26, 1954. On December 29, 1954, he married Thelva Schmidt in Minot, ND. In 1956, they moved to Everett, Washington, where he worked as a carpenter. They returned to Minot in 1962 and he worked for Mackley Construction and then started to work for Rolac Construction in 1973. He retired on Jun 12, 1993 and continued to live in Minot. His wife Thelva died on August 27, 1999. Harris was a member of the Eagles Aerie, the Loyal Order of Moose, the American Legion and was a life member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars. Harris worked his whole life with his hands. He was always
quick to help anyone with anything. He loved to garden, hunt
and fish. Funeral: Friday, November 21, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, ND Burial: North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota, Friday, November 21, 2003 at 3 p.m. There will be no reviewal but friends may sign a register book on Thursday, November 20, 2003 from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. There will be Recitation of the Holy Rosary on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Celebrants of the Liturgies: Father David Zimmer and Father Paul Cervinski Music: "Amazing Grace," "On Eagles Wings,"
"Daddy's Hands," "Song of Farewell" and "Suppertime"
