Ernest H. Hanson 1919 - 2009 Ernest Harold Hanson was born March 22, 1919, to Helmer and Pauline (Selfors) Hanson, in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated in Minot. Ernest married Helen Schnaible on July 27, 1942 in Sidney, MT. They made their home in Minot, where Ernest and his brother Hollis owned and operated Hanson's Radiator Shop on Central Avenue for many years. He than worked for Peter Kiewit Construction during the construction of the Minot Air Force Base and later worked for Mon-Dak Chemical in Minot, until a major back injury forced him to retire. Helen passed away July 16, 1960. Ernest later married Geneva Dudley from Kenmare. They lived in Kenmare before moving to Surrey. They divorced in 1994. He enjoyed tinkering on cars, lawn mowers and other small engines. He liked to play bingo and black jack and also enjoyed family gatherings. Those who shared in his life, daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis (Myron) Brodehl, Minot, Beverly (Dennis) McDowell, Bismarck, JoAnn ( Dennis) Roerick, Minot, Jully (Gerald) Biggs, Old Fort, N.C., JoElla (Byron) Galusha, Minot, Geri (Robert) Goety, Palm Bay, FL, Gladys (Ed) Rogers, Canyon Lake, TX, Melissa Hanson, Walla Walla, WA, Amanda Neumann, McHenry, Ill and Marci (Scott) Julson, Minot; 42 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; sister, Lily Clementich, Minot; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; sons, Ernest Helmer Hanson and Gerard Hanson; grandson, Dennis Roerick, Jr.; parents, Helmer and Pauline; brothers and sisters, Oliver, Hollis, Marlin, Byron, Leonard, Ray, Helen and Olive. Funeral: Monday, April 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot. Visitation: Sunday, April 19, 2009 from noon to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, from 9:00 a.m. to service time. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
