Gweneth Hamilton 1939 - 2005 Gweneth Hamilton, 66, Minot, died Thursday, December 15, 2005,
in a Minot nursing home. Gwen attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority and accompanied the Varsity Bards, a UND mens choir. She was a member of Delta Psi Kappa, an honorary group of women in physical education. Horses were Gwens passion. She was a regular participant at the Pierce County Horse Show while attending UND, and she spent three summers as a horse wrangler in a mountain camp in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Gwen was runner-up for UND Homecoming Queen in her senior year. Upon graduation from UND in 1961, Gwen taught high school at the Jefferson County District in Kittredge, Colorado. During her first year there, she was a passenger in a motor vehicle accident in which she sustained a sever head injury from which she never fully recovered. After her accident she lived with and was cared for by her mother, Majorie in Denver, CO, where she worked for a time as a volunteer at the Swedish Hospital. Gwen and her mother moved to Fargo where she and her mother worked in a daycare and a cleaning service. They later moved to Minot where Gwen was admitted to the Trinity Nursing Home. Gwen was a vivacious and gregarious person who was loved by all who knew her. Survivors: brothers, Mark (Penny) Hamilton, Minot, and Tom Hamilton, Lisbon, ND; sister, Marsha (Wayne) Smogaurd, Fargo, ND; uncle, Aldon Curfman, Hickory, NC; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shirley Nelson. Memorial Service: Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Homes, Minot Friends may sign a register book on Monday, December 19, 2005,
