Beverly Hamel 1946 - 2005

Beverly Hamel, 59, 2850 62nd St SE, Minot, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005 in her home, following a very courageous battle with cancer.

Beverly Jean Feland was born August 1, 1946, in Antler, ND, the daughter of Edwin and Mildred (Brackelsberg) Feland. She attended Wheaton grade school and Mohall High School.

On March 26, 1974, Beverly was united in marriage to Gene Hamel in Mohall, ND. Following their marriage they made their home on the farm in rural Antler, and they managed the American Legion Club in Mohall. Beverly worked at the Westhope Nursing Home, for 17 years. She also worked at Schatz Econostop in Minot, until ill health forced her to retire.

Beverly was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, rural Antler, the American Legion Auxiliary in Mohall, and the Riviera Lounge dart team. She enjoyed going to coffee at the Econostop after her retirement.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, whether it was spending time having a sleepover, or spoiling them with presents, even when their mothers said no. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by: Her husband, Gene Hamel, Minot; son, Dustin Hamel, Minot; daughters, Tamie (Tim) Klein, Goreville, IL, Tracy Hamel, Minot, and Ardelle (Lynn) Schmidt, Mohall; five grandchildren: Jessicca Skamser, Cody Lehman, Tyrell Schmidt, Madison Schmidt, and Lainey Schmidt; two great-grandchildren, Octavia Skamser, and Beverly Jean Skamser, (due in mid-August); sisters, Darlene (David) Aliff, Ponfret, MD, and Gloria (Melvin) Aho, Mohall; brothers-in-law, Louis (Theresa) Hamel, Lakota, ND, Junior Hamel, Granville, and Larry (Judy) Hamel, Minot; sisters-in-law, Betty Teigen, Moscow, ID, Elaine (Everett) Larson, Havre, MT, and Barbara (Marvin) Streich, Minot; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Service: Monday, August, 8, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Lutheran Church in Antler, ND.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign a register book , Sunday, August 7, 2005 from noon-5:00 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in Minot.

Burial: A private family burial will take place at a later time.
