Edna J. Hallingstad • 1913 - 2006 Edna J. Hallingstad, 92, Minot, died Tuesday, February 07, 2006 in a Minot nursing home. Edna Hauge was born December 15, 1913, the daughter of John T and Engel (Lenning) Hauge, in rural Raub, ND. She was raised on a farm near Raub, confirmed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Roseglen, and attended Wright School and Makoti High School. In 1936, she was united in marriage to Rudolph Hallingstad in Stanley, ND. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Plaza. Rudolph died May 26, 1960. Following his death, she worked at the Plaza Branch of the People's State Bank of Parshall, retiring in 1981. She moved to Minot in 1990. Edna resided at the Henry Towers until 2003, when she moved into Somerset. In May of 2004, she entered Manorcare Health Services, where she resided at the time of her death. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Plaza, was active in the Ladies Aid,and was a Sunday School teacher. She also was active in the Plaza Civic Club, and the Plaza Senior Citizens. She is survived by: Son: Ronald, Caldwell, ID; daughters: LaVonne Brayson, Lucerne Valley, CA; Janis Erickson, Minot, ND; Sandra (Leslie) Feist, Clearwater, MN; Laurel (Petter) Thunshelle, Minot. 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rudolph; brothers, Hans, Torger, Albert, Clarence, George, Leonard and Richard; sisters, Ella Hintz, Anna Vangsness, Bertha Larson, and Martha Hauge; daughter-in-law, Judy and two infant grandchildren. Visitation: Thursday, February 9, 2006 from noon until 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Funeral Service: Friday, February 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot Burial: 2:00 p.m. at the Plaza Community Cemetery, Plaza, ND Officiant: Rev.
