James J. Hager Sr. 1936 - 2005

James J. Hager Sr., 68, 916 24th Ave. NW, Minot, died Monday, September 12, 2005, in his home.

James Joseph Hager was born on September 27, 1936, the son of Sebastian and Tillie (Kraft) Hager. He was reared and educated in the Karlsruhe area, attending school through the eighth grade, when he assisted his family with the operations of the family farm.

James was married in 1957 to Leona J. Boucher, in Velva, ND. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Velva, where James worked building missile sites in various locations throughout ND and worked as an auto mechanic in Velva. . In 1966, they moved to Minot. The couple later divorced. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for a time, before devoting his time as an auto mechanic at various businesses in Minot. He retired from mechanic work in 1994. Following his retirement, he was the owner of the bar in Kief, ND for several years.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially boating, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Little Flower Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge, both of Minot.

He is survived by: Daughter: Angela Hager, Minot: Sons: James Hager Jr., San Jose, CA; David Hager, Minot; Glen (Kristi) Hager, Battleview, ND; Andrew Hager (Carolyn Engh) Minot
Brother: Daniel (Bernice) Hager, Minot, ND: Sister: Isabell (Harry) Schafer, Fargo, ND.
Eight grandchildren: Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

James was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Kenneth Hager.

Visitation: Wednesday, September 14, 2005 from 1:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Funeral Service: Thursday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
