Dottie Hagel PhotoDarlene “Dottie” Hagel, 73, Minot, ND, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at ManorCare Health Services in Minot.

Darlene “Dottie” Hagel was born May 9, 1936, a daughter of Roy and Mabel (Zimmerman) Peiler, on the family farm located 1 mile north of Round Lake, which is north of Anamoose, ND.  She was raised there and attended elementary school at Round Lake Township and later Funston Elementary. She graduated from Anamoose High School in 1954, where she had been a member of the high school band.

Dottie married Florion Hagel November 21, 1955, in Anamoose, ND. They made their home in Minot, where she had worked at the VFW Club Post 753, the Eagles Aerie Club, and at Minot Laundry over the years. She retired in 1998.

She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, puzzles, Bingo, and an occasional trip to the casino.  

Surviving family includes
husband of 54 years, Florion, Minot; children, Jeff (Susan) Hagel, Minot, Monty (Elaine) Hagel, Minot, Greg Hagel, Minot, and Pam (Tim) Tallman, Minot; grandchildren, Lindsey (Frank) Justin, Nicole (Josh) Tallman, and Kristi (Charles) Carmin; great-grandchildren, Abby Tallman;
brothers, Melvin Peiler, Anamoose. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Russell Hagel; and brother, Vernon Peiler.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment:
  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: 
Monday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service
: Monday at 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
