Borghild N. Gunderson 1913 - 2002

Borghild N. Gunderson, 88, 1900 28 St. SW, Minot, died Tuesday in a Minot hospital.

She was born October 9, 1913, in Leaf Mountain Township, Burke County, near Columbus, ND, to Nels and Katrina Kleppen. She was reared and educated near Columbus. On January 21, 1931, she married Melvin Gunderson. They farmed in Leaf Mountain Township. In 1956, they moved to Powers Lake, where she worked at the Hospital until it closed. Her husband died in 1976. Borghild moved to Kenmare, where she worked at the Baptist Home. She lived in Kenmare for several years before moving to Williston. In November of 2001 she moved to Minot where she resided at Somerset Court.

She was a member of Assembly of God Church, Powers Lake and taught Sunday school there. Borghild loved to read her Bible, embroider, garden and make doughnuts and lefse.

Survivors: children, Muriel (Bud) Smith, rural Powers Lake, Nelsie (Orien) Oas, Columbus, ND, Jeanette (Lee) Haffner, Minot, Beverly Briscoe, Kenmare, Leroy (Marlene) Gunderson, Stanley, and Karen (Arlin) Oas, Columbus; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Nelsie Kihle, Williston, Mabel Peterson, Williston, Hilma Hallum, Minot, Dorothy Watterud, Center and Olga Hysjulien, Billings, MT and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Marvin; brothers, Sivert, Jacob, Elmer and Magne and sister, Eva Isakson.

Funeral: Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at Assembly of God Church, Powers Lake.

Visitation: Friday, from 2-7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Powers Lake.

Burial: Bethlehem Cemetery, rural Columbus, ND.
