Frances G. Gullickson • 1913 - 2007 Frances was born on January 17, 1913, the daughter of John and Grace (Van Vorst) Kelly on the family farm near Stanley, ND. She was raised and educated in the Vanville and Lostwood area. She attended country grade school and Powers Lake High School. In November of 1931, Frances was united in marriage to Gehart "Happy" Gullickson. They made their home in the Burke County area, where Frances assisted her husband with the operations of the farm, and was a homemaker. They retired in 1972. Following retirement, they built a home in Bowbells, ND. Happy died April 2, 1994. Following his death, she continued to live in Bowbells, until entering the Good Samaritan Health Center in Mohall in 1999. Frances was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and Farmers Union, both of Bowbells, ND. She was active with a homemakers club, a 4-H leader, township assessor, election boards, and Bowbells Senior Citizens. She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, bottomless popcorn bowls, and her homemade bread. She was a wonderful grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, friend and someone you could always talk to. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
