William R. "Bill" Gulbranson 1935 - 2007

William R. "Bill" Gulbranson, 72, Garrison, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 in a Minot hospital.

William was born September 12, 1935 in Eveleth, MN, the son of Theodore and Laina (Maki) Gulbranson. In 1949 he moved with his family to Minot, where he was raised and educated. While growing up he helped his father with furnace work and drove truck.

In the late 1950's he entered the United States Army. He was honorably discharged and returned to North Dakota. He joined the International Sheet Metal Union where he worked for the next 25 years. He worked as a sheet metal inspector on the missile sites and also worked on the power plants during their construction in North Dakota. Bill worked at the Sugar Beet Plant in Drayton, ND and later at the Minot Air Force Base Hospital. He was once married to Karen Hanson.

He married Wanda Tomaschsky in 1966 and she passed away in 2003.

Survivors: Sons, Andrew, Steve and David Gulbranson, all of Minot; daughter, Deliela Grann, Surrey; stepdaughter, Doreen Knutson, Sawyer; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister, Leatrice Keyes, Fargo; brothers, Gerald (Tina) Gulbranson, Hershey, NE, Ronald (Ann) Gulbranson, Coleharbor, ND, James Gulbranson, Clearlake, MN and Milton (JoAnn) Gulbranson, Minot, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; his parents; brother, Norman Gulbranson.

Memorial Service: Friday, November 30th, 11:00 am, at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial: A private burial will be held at a later time.
