Rita M. Gruenberg 1927 - 2003

Rita M. Gruenberg, 76, 1921 6th St. SE, Apt. 2, Minot, ND, died Saturday, January 03, 2004 in a Minot hospital.

She was born on December 3, 1927, in Max, ND, to Michael and Emily (Krebsbach) Krausert. She was raised and educated in Max and Garrison, ND. She married George Gruenberg in Garrison on August 13, 1946. They moved to Minot in 1948 and lived there for over 30 years. She raised her eight sons in her younger years and later worked for several Minot restaurants. Rita and George celebrated 55 years of marriage. George died on August 5, 1992. Following the death of her husband, Rita moved to the Burlington Retirement Center and then back to Minot.

She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the Minot Moose Lodge, both of Minot. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. In her spare time, she loved to bake, garden and play bingo.

Survivors: eight sons, Stanley (Debbie), Vancouver, WA, Jerome (Shelley), Burlington, Larry (Annie), Washburn, ND, Marlin (Mary), Bismarck, ND, Rodney, Minot, Jeff (Becky), Yakima, WA, Michael (Tammy), Vancouver, Richard (Gail), Burlington; 24 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; two brothers, Harold (Jane) Krausert and Harvey Krausert, both of Garrison, ND; one sister, Blanche Weishaar, Minot. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Her husband, parents, and grandson Tim, preceded her in death.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, January 7, 2004, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Prayer Service: Tuesday, January 6, 2004, 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Visitation: Tuesday, January 6, 2004, from noon to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
