Florence Irene Grove • 1924- 2006 Florence was born July 5, 1924 in Goodrich, ND, the daughter of Nathaniel and Tillie (Schlenker) Mattheis. She was raised and educated in New Rockford and graduated from New Rockford High School. Florence moved to Chicago, Illinois where she worked at Saks Fifth Avenue and the Betty Pearl Shop. She married Herbert Grove on June 7, 1964 in Evanston, Ill. He preceded her in death. She returned to New Rockford and then to Minot, ND, where she lived from 1975 to present. She worked at Voeller's Furniture and at Jim Ryan Chevrolet. Florence was an Avon Sales Representative for numerous years and delivered Avon in Minot from 1986 until the time of her death. Florence was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. Survivors: Son, Gary (Penny) Grove, Glencoe, MN; three grandchildren, Erik Grove (13), Michael Grove (8), and Madison Grove (5), all in Glencoe; a niece who was like a daughter to Florence, Karen Anderson, Minot; sister, Phyllis Anderson, Minot; several other nieces and nephews also survive. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel and Tillie Mattheis. Funeral: Thursday, June 8, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot, ND. Visitation: Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND. Officiant: Rev.
