Kathy Grina • 1957 - 2011 Kathy Marie Stach was born December 4, 1957, a daughter of Balzer M. Stach, Jr. and Evelyn (Nienow) Stach, in Minot, ND. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1976. She later attended Minot State College for a time. Kathy married Jeff Grina September 17, 1982, in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where she had been employed by Trinity Hospital for many years. From this union, a son, Justin, who was the light of her life, was born. Kathy enjoyed spending her free time shopping, gardening, and caring for her two cats. She was an active cheerleader in high school and as time moved forward she developed a passion for nature, cooking and baking. Kathy was diagnosed with breast cancer in September of 2008. After being in remission for 2 years, the disease returned. Kathy looked forward to regaining her strength and health to help young children in ministry and sing in the church choir. She was overwhelmed by and grateful for everyone that stepped in to help her along the way. Her loving family includes: son, Justin, Minot; mother, Evelyn Stach, Minot; sister, Marianne (Willy) Klein, Minot; brother, Gary (Marilyn) Stach, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
