Daryle D. Griffin 1931 - 2003

Daryle D. Griffin, 72, 5110 Hwy 2 East, A-34 Holiday Park, Minot, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, in a Minot hospital.

Daryle was born March 1, 1931, in Bismarck, ND, the son of Lee and Eva (Kohoutek) Griffin. He moved with his parents to Minot, where he attended Minot area grade schools and Minot High School. He enlisted with the North Dakota National Guard in 1951, and served in Korea from 1951-1952. He transferred to the United States Navy, and served and eventually retired from the Navy in 1973. He married Charlotte Preston on August 22, 1980, in Minot. They continued to live in Minot following his retirement. He worked as a bus driver for the City of Minot, Northland Bus Company and the Minot Public Schools.

Daryle held life memberships with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans, both of Minot.

Survivors: Wife, Charlotte Griffin; children, Lisa Ann Griffin-Sanders and husband Jack, three other daughters and one son; nine grandchildren; aunt, Mary Ann Rakness. Several cousins also survive. His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral Service: Monday, March 10, 2003, 1:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Visitation: Sunday, March 9, 2003, from noon to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday prior to service time at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Officiant: Rev. Don Andrews, chaplain at Trinity Health
