LeRoy Gravesen 1928 - 2007 LeRoy Andrew Gravesen was born November 5, 1928, the son of Andrew and Martha (Sogaard) Gravesen in Kenmare, ND. He was raised in Kenmare and graduated from Kenmare High School in May of 1946. He entered the United States Army on March 31, 1947. He proudly served his country and worked as an electrician and was a member of the color guard. He was honorably discharged on September 3, 1948. LeRoy married Maurine Zietz November 12, 1950, in Tolley, ND. Throughout his life he worked as a dairy and grain farmer, electrician and rural route mail carrier. He volunteered his time to serve on the board of the Farmers Union Creamery, Kenmare Deaconess Hospital and Nazareth Lutheran Church Council. He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Kenmare and the Kenmare American Legion Post #64. He passed away surrounded by the love of his family, friends and community. Throughout his life, he lived the values of integrity, giving and grace. LeRoy especially loved his family. Those honored to share closely in his life are: his wife of
56 years, Maurine, Kenmare; LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Jenni; and an infant son, Stephen. Funeral: Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at 11:00 a.m.
