Howard M. Grant 1922 - 2004

Howard M. Grant, 81, Berthold, ND, died Saturday, August 7, 2003 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Howard Marcus Grant was born on August 29, 1922, in Passport Township, Ward Country, the son of Robert and Gertrude (Mathews) Grant. He was reared and educated in Tagus, ND.

Howard was married to Lois L. Engen on October 27, 1945 in Minot. They made their home in Berthold, N.D. and farmed in the area where they raised small grains. He also drove school bus for the Berthold School district for many years. He retired from farming in 1987, but continued to assist his nephew, Frank Bruels in his farming operation. Lois died January 21, 1988.

Howard was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold, and also the Eagles Aerie. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Surviving family includes: son and daughter in law: Roger and Patricia Grant, Omaha, NE;
grandchildren: Andrea (Jason) Cavanaugh; Aron Grant; Gage Grant; and Farrah Grant;
1 great-grandchild, Hunter Grant; sisters: Stella Bruels, Donna Olson, Patricia Grant, all of Minot, Dorothy (Bud) Korte, Berthold, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Helen Wilhelm, Margaret Hennessy, and Millie Olson; brothers, Robert, and Gordon Grant.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register book on Monday, from Noon until 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
